There’s wood—and then there’s the tree it came from. Too often, the soul of the tree is lost in the making, but not here. This large end-grain platter preserves the essence of the tree itself, with visible growth rings capturing its age, its seasons, and its resilience. A thick live edge of bark wraps around the rim, reminding us this was once a living, breathing presence.

To ensure longevity, we’ve sealed natural voids with gold-tinted epoxy in the spirit of kintsugi—honouring flaws as part of the story—and finished the entire piece in layered oil and resin for a rich, glossy surface. Though large and visually bold, the platter is surprisingly light, making it easy to lift and clean. A small foot elevates it slightly off the surface, adding elegance and a sense of lift.

Use it as a serving platter for dry goods, or as a display base for fairy lights, dried botanicals, or simply as a tribute to the raw beauty of wood itself.
