Our story
Fairytale Wood is a husband and wife team from Smolec, near Wroclaw in Poland. Chris is the only English Wood Turner living and working full time in Poland and both Kasia and Chris were managers in international companies before changing their lives to follow their joint passion and setup Fairytale Wood.
What We Do
We create beautifully decorative wooden homeware—plates, bowls, vases, and more—designed from the ground up to tell a story and express character. Every curve, grain, and detail is intentional, so the pieces you choose reflect your personality, your style, and what sets you apart. They’re not just functional—they’re personal. And when given as gifts, they carry that same thoughtfulness, offering something truly meaningful that shows how deeply you care.
WhY Its Special
Our work fuses the timeless art of traditional woodturning with cutting-edge techniques like 3D printing and epoxy resin casting to craft unique, eye-catching creations. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature and the rich lore of mythology, each piece we make tells its own story. The care and creativity we pour into our work imbues every item with a touch of magic—something truly one of a kind.
Meet The Team
KasiA
Owner, Artisan
Kasia runs the business but also has an artists eye for colour and design, helping out with decorating pieces . She speaks Polish, English and Italian and is your best bet for customer contact. When not working she loves her garden, cooking and walking her dog.
Chris
Woodturner, Digital Artisan
Chris has been woodworking for over 15 years but has settled into woodturning full time. He uses his digital skills and knowledge of mythology to give Fairytale Wood its unique character. When not working, Chris loves movies and computing.
