Hold this small dish to your ear and you might hear the ocean. Especially if you do it on the beach after a few drams of rum! The spiral swirls around the rim are inspired by old etchings of waves on the ocean. The deep blue epoxy also evokes water and the whole plate was designed with mariner tales of ocean legends in mind. Made of elm wood, there is even small chatoyancy in places, adding to the feeling of waves.

The ocean, powerful and romantic, inspired our imaginations when designing this dish. More than a plate but less than a bowl, this is a form that can play the role of both. It is food safe and easily washed with a damp cloth. This dish is perfect for biscuits, chocolates, or a few pieces of fruit. The wood polymer pattern of spiral swirls, in a semi chaotic repeating pattern, are based on the depiction of waves from old etchings of the ocean. Of course we used deep blue epoxy The deep blue epoxy to evoke water and the whole plate was designed with ancient mariner tales of sea monsters, mermaids and whirlpools. Made of elm wood.
